You Are Here – The Beginning

Born and raised in Loveland, CO, I’ve never strayed far from home for too long. I have traveled a little, and spent some time in a few places, but my travels and my path have brought me back to Northern Colorado.

When I was 15, my mom treated me to a student facial at our local beauty school. During and after that experience, I had a terrifying epiphany: I wanted to do that. I wanted to go through beauty school, and I wanted to devote my energy to helping people look and feel beautiful.

Why terrifying? Because I thought I had to go to university and get a “real degree” and a “real job.” Don’t ask me what that means, because I have no idea.

Well, one “real” bachelor’s degree, and more “real” jobs than a one-page resume can house later, I found myself still longing to go to beauty school. I had refined my dreams: I wanted to be an esthetician. In helping people look and feel beautiful, I wanted to focus on the skin.

I asked my own esthetician if she liked what she did, and we spoke at length about the career. To my luck, a new esthetics school had opened in a local spa, and I had the opportunity to enroll and start right away. I jumped on it. After 8+ years of stuffing my feelings and dishonoring my dream, I owed it to myself to do this.

And now here I am. There are no words for how excited I am to start school, to start learning and helping people see results in their skin. There are no words for how terrified I am – I’ve wanted this for nearly a decade, what if I am wrong?

But I don’t think I am.

I am a firm believer that at any given point, you are where you are meant to be. Every thing that has happened up until this moment has shaped you into who you now are. Every blessing, triumph, and rainy day has lead you, well, here.

All the best,
Kyanne
